Williams Station Power Distribution Center
Goose Creek, South Carolina
The scope of this project was to replace the 4160 VAC switchgear and MCC’s installed throughout the plant when the Williams Station facility was originally constructed. Accomplishing the work required the installation of a new PDC building with new feeder cable buss from the existing 4160 VAC transformers to the new gear and MCC’s.
The installation also required new power feeders, associated control wiring, and communications for all plant equipment. With the new feeders in place, a series of outages were held to transition loads to the new electrical gear. Additional scope included installation of new emergency generator and transformer relay panels with all associated DCS equipment.
