New Flyover Clears Path for Safer Landfill Access
07.02.2026
A decade in the making, the new Route 13/58/460 flyover to the SPSA Regional Landfill is now open, marking a major milestone in regional infrastructure, safety, and operational efficiency.
This Crowder project, funded by SPSA as part of VDOT’s SPSA Interchange Improvements Project, the flyover eliminates the former at-grade crossing and provides safer, more efficient access to the landfill for municipal fleets, commercial haulers, and residents. The project represents a collaborative effort among SPSA, VDOT, Crowder, HDR, Suffolk officials, and regional stakeholders.
