Rocky River Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant – Phase 3 and Phase 4 Upgrades (Progressive Design-Build)
Concord, NC
The Rocky River Regional WWTP (RRRWWTP) has a permitted capacity of 26.5 MGD. In anticipation of future growth in its service area, the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) elected to expand the RRRWWTP from its current capacity of 26.5 MGD to a future capacity of 34.0 MGD in two phases. Phase 3 expands the RRRWWTP to 30 MGD while Phase 4 expands the RRRWWTP to 34 MGD. The biological process at the RRRWWTP will be converted from the high purity oxygen (HPO) generation system to a more mainstream and modernized ambient diffused air aeration system.
