Gaston Shoals South Traveling Hoist Refurbishment
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina
With the existing hoist system being over 100 years old, the client decided to keep the historical hoist and have it refurbished. Crowder replaced all the gearboxes, drive train, electrical components, repaired the main structure, and finished it off with a fresh coat of paint. Our CIC Fabrication Shop fabricated the shaft guards used in this project.
A main challenge to overcome on this project was finding replacement parts for the existing, outdated parts.
Crowder Industrial self-performed 90% of the work for this project, while the remaining work was subcontracted to handle coatings and paint.
