Westech Allen
Scope of work involved installation of WesTech designed temporary wastewater treatment system for the active ash basin at Plant Allen in Belmont, NC. This project was on a strict timeline due to regulatory commitments by the owner. Crowder was responsible for setting equipment provided by the engineer including one Rapisand flocculation tank, two gravity filters, various forwarding and recycle pumps, and two new intake pumps. This project also required Crowder to re-utilize the existing intake pump previously installed inside the basin. Due to the remote location of the facility, a helicopter was determined to be the safest and most effective way to lift and set the floating intake pumps in the active ash basin. Crowder was also responsible for installing all of the interconnecting piping for the system (HDPE, Stainless Steel) and the Electrical Power and Control systems necessary for operation.
