Switchyard Installation

The
project scope included demolition of existing equipment foundations,
all existing switchyard equipment, disconnect switches, circuit
breakers and the existing 64 KV oil filled transformer. Installation
of a new 12 MV dry type transformer, circuit breakers and disconnect
switches, all associated support structures, and auxiliary equipment.
New
concrete equipment foundations and pads for the new switchyard
equipment as mentioned above were placed prior to setting of the new
transformer and auxiliary equipment. New foundations and equipment
were tied into the existing yard grounding system. Structural support
steel required for the new installation was fabricated in our
Spartanburg fabrication shop and delivered to the project site
utilizing our in-house transportation capabilities. Crowder completed
final site grading and placement of crushed stone base throughout the
yard after placement of the equipment. New fencing was installed
around the perimeter of the Switchyard completing the reconstruction
of the facility.
