Crowder Reaches Major Milestone in Brown and Williams WTP Upgrade

Crowder Construction Company is proud to announce that it has reached
a major milestone on the Brown and Williams Water Treatment Plant
Upgrade and Expansion
– Contract II project. Crowder has recently made significant
progress on the sediment basin slabs after a total slab pour of 300
yards on the Brown
WTP site.
The $57 million-project, which was designed by Black & Veatch, was awarded to Crowder June 21, 2016 by the City of Durham and involves work at two water treatment plants in Durham, NC.
The project at the Brown and Williams WTP involves an expansion from 30 MGD to 42 MGD. The work includes demolition of four existing sedimentation basins, two new sedimentation and filter basins, upgrades to three existing sedimentation and filter basins, a new administration building, chemical facility upgrades, new chlorine contact tank, and plant-wide electrical, instrumentation and SCADA upgrades.
Crowder and the City of Durham expect the successful completion of this project to be September 2018.
